BSIA

Safe Contractor
Safe contractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that contractors operate in a safe way. There is therefore a need to assess contractors’ health & safety arrangements, and increasingly this is being carried out through SAFE contractor. Many large organisations now use SAFE contractor as their primary means of selecting contractors. SAFE contractor is effectively the client’s approved contractor list. FSB
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Accreditation is a recognition program designed to identify and promote businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to quality and customer service. ISO9001 UKAS
ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. It applies to the processes that create and control the products and services an organisation supplies. It prescribes systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met. ACCLAIM/SSIP
Acclaim Accreditation is a digital badge system that allows individuals to showcase their skills, achievements, and credentials in a portable and easily verifiable format. The badges are issued by trusted organizations, such as universities, professional associations, and industry leaders, and represent a validated proof of competency or achievement in a specific area.
CHAS
Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. It is a non-commercial scheme available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers. CHAS are dedicated to completing health and safety pre-qualification assessments to a nationally recognised and accepted threshold standard. The SMAS (Safety Management Advisory Services) Accreditation is a certification scheme that assesses the health and safety competence of contractors and suppliers. The accreditation process involves an assessment of the contractor or supplier’s health and safety policies, procedures and practices to ensure they meet the required standards. Once accredited, contractors and suppliers are listed on the SMAS database and can provide evidence of their health and safety competence to potential clients. Black Country Chamber Of Commerce
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce Accreditation is a recognition given to businesses in the Black Country region of England that have demonstrated high standards of business practice and excellence. The accreditation is awarded by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization that promotes and supports businesses in the region.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) was established in 1995 by the major stakeholders in the construction industry with the aim of reducing accidents and driving up quality. The Scheme has proved highly successful and over a million CSCS cards have now been issued. A CSCS card offers a simple and effective way of checking that staff are competent and aware of health and safety issues. This not only safeguards the well being of staff and their colleagues on site, it also helps to improve the efficiency and productivity of the industry as a whole. Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials is an industry-supported certification program focused on helping organizations protect themselves against common cyberattacks. To achieve Cyber Essentials accreditation, companies must have basic technical controls implemented in 5 key areas – firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection, and patch management. An assessment process validates that requirements are met. Cyber Essentials provides an independent verification of baseline controls, offers assurance to customers/stakeholders, and underpins cyber insurance policies. The program aims to incentivize and promote cybersecurity best practices for businesses of all sizes as cyber threats become more prevalent.
